Usage
AREA

Design only. Limits the area per shell. Enter minimum and maximum values. There are no defaults.

LENGTH

Design only. Specifies minimum, maximum, and incremental tube lengths. PRO/II uses the maximum length to initiate the design and reduces the length by the increment specified if the

tubeside pressure drop and velocity specifications cannot be met at the minimum number of passes allowed for the design. The default values are: 24, 40, 2 ft (English input units), or 7.315, 12.2, 0.609 m (Metric and SI input units).

PASS

Specifies the upper and lower limit for number of tube passes per bundle. Enter minimum and maximum values. The default is 1,12.

ROWS

Specifies the minimum and maximum number of tube rows per bundle. Enter minimum and maximum values. The defaults are 2 and 12.

DPSHELL

Specifies the minimum and maximum values for pressure drop per bundle. PRO/II averages the lower and upper limits to determine the target pressure drop for the specified

bundle arrangement. The defaults are 5, 15 psi (English), 0.352, 1.055 kg/cm 2 (metric), or 34.47, 103.42 kPa (SI). You cannot enter DPSHELL and DPUNIT together.

VELOCITY

Specifies lower and upper limits for tubeside velocity. Enter minimum and maximum values. The default is 0,1000 ft/sec (English), or 0, 304.8 m/s (metric and SI).

WIDTH

Specifies the minimum and maximum width of the bundle. Enter lower and upper limits values in ft (English) or m (metric and SI). The defaults are 5, 12 ft (English) and 1.525, 3.657 m (metric and SI).

DPUNIT

Specifies the minimum and maximum airside pressure drop per bundle. Enter lower and upper limits. PRO/II calculates the average between the minimum and maximum values to use as the target pressure drop in obtaining a suitable tube bundle. The defaults are 0.3, 0.7 in. H2O (English) and 7.62, 17.8 mm H2O (metric and SI). You cannot enter DPSHELL and DPUNIT together.

VELOCITY

Design only. Specifies the minimum and maximum airside velocities. Enter lower and upper limits in ft/hr (English) or m/s (metric and SI). The defaults are 0.00 & 1000.7 ft/sec (English input units) and 0.0 & 305.01 m/s (metric and SI input units).

PARALLEL

Specifies the minimum and maximum number of bundles per bay in parallel. There are no defaults.
