Default Sets of Units of Measure

This window is used to select the global default Units of measure (UOM) sets, for input data and output report, for all future simulation problems. To create or modify an Units of measure set, use the Units of Measure Library Window.

Usage

From the Options / Simulation Defaults menu, select the "Units of Measure" item to display this window.

Set Used for Data Input

PRO/II uses English units as the default set for input data. To override this default, select the desired UOM set from the drop-down list.

Set Used for Output

PRO/II allows you to generate two kinds of output reports. You can produce an output report with the same units as input units and/or with an alternate set of explicitly specified output units. In this window, if you select the first output report to be same as the input units, you may optionally select to produce a second report with explicitly specified output units (the default is no second report). On the other hand, if you select a UOM set for the first report, the second report drop-down list will become unavailable.

Explicit Default Option

PRO/II allows you to explicitly print all the attributes including defaults on the DIMENSION, OUTDIMENSION, ASSAY, CALCULATION, and TOLERANCE statements to the Keyword Input (*.inp) file.

To override this default, clear the "Include Explicit Units of Measure, Assay Defaults, Calculation Options and Tolerances” check box in the Export Dialog Box.

The default dimensional units for input data and output reports for all new problems will be based on the sets you have just selected. You can modify or change these units within individual problems. See Problem Default Units of Measure for Data Input and Problem Default Units of Measure for Output Report for more details.
