Rigorous Heat Exchanger - Defaults
If only the minimum data is entered, the exchanger solves by assuming the following:
One horizontal, counter-current carbon steel AES shell with 2 tube passes, not connected to a column.
6.09 M (20 ft) plain carbon steel tubes, 19.050 mm (0.75 inches) OD, 14.834 mm (0.584 inches) ID on a 25.4 mm (1 inch) square pitch.
Single 20% cut baffles, centre spacing 20% of shell ID and no sealing strips.
Tube-side and Shell-side fouling resistances of 0.35222 M2.K/kW (0.002 hr ft2.F/BTU).
Pressure drop calculated by Bell Delaware assuming zero fouling layer thickness and standard nozzles. Nozzle diameters calculated from fluid properties.
Tube sheet and baffle thicknesses calculated by TEMA methods.
